During its first three decades, Fisher & Associates, Inc. (F&A) has served over 400 clients and the firm is proud of its record of meeting their needs and objectives through the planning and implementation of effective strategies and programs.   Following are a few examples of successful programs that have been undertaken.

  • Saving an Industry - In the late 1980's when the AIDS scare was peaking, the legal licensed brothel industry in Nevada was about to be legislated out of existence because everyone assumed that the brothels were a major source of spreading the disease.  The reality was exactly the opposite.  F&A assisted in the formation of the Nevada Brothel Association, recommended it contract with a highly respected medical institution (UCLA) to do a major study to determine the facts and then coordinated a major public awareness program to reveal the results. Opposition ceased.

  • Saving People's Homes - Over 300 condominium homeowners were on the verge of losing their homes because they were unsafe due to construction defects. The homeowners couldn't afford the repairs. After nearly five years of litigation against the developer, their law firm had failed to get the case to court. In desperation, it retained F&A to put pressure on the courts to schedule a trail. Within five weeks, F&A implemented a program which resulted in the trial being scheduled. After a six month trial, the homeowners received $10.8 million (a state record) which enabled them to make the repairs to save their homes.

  • Changing People's Lifestyle - In 1980, the State of California foresaw the day when no landfill space would be left to accommodate the state's trash. An urgent public awareness program was needed to educate the public to this disastrous situation and recommend alternative methods of trash disposal (e.g. recycling). F&A was retained to handle Southern California. After a three year program, F&A helped to make the term "garbage crisis" a household word and also significantly gave a boost to the advancement of recycling. (Note: As an adjunct to this work, F&A also planned and implemented a curbside recycling communications program for the City of Santa Monica which served as the model for all other similar municipal programs that followed throughout the state.)

  • Fostering Understanding Though Public Exposure - F&A was retained by an international nonprofit organization of people who believed in physical immortality to initiate a public education program to generate awareness of their beliefs and combat an image that they were a cult. During a five year program - while often having to battle "tabloid-type" media - F&A still made significant progress into achieving these goals.
